Caring Neighbors and Hospice

A caring community begins
with a single, thoughtful neighbor.

HELP of Ojai has amassed a small army of Caring Neighbors who regularly volunteer, visit, provide support and offer occasional practical assistance to frail and elderly people, the handicapped, or those with chronic illness.

Counseling is also available from Caring Neighbors for anyone suffering from issues of loss as a result of retirement, physical impairment, aging, illness or death of a loved one.  Trained staff provide assessment and referral to health care professionals and related services provided by HELP of Ojai.  Caring Neighbors support groups provide a safe, nurturing environment that allow people with common concerns or needs to meet.

Some existing support groups include:

WORLD OF ONE
for the recently widowed coping with living alone

GENT'S BREAKFAST
for newly single senior men

BEREAVED PARENTS
for parents facing the loss of a child

CAREGIVERS' HAVEN
for adults who care for a dependent elder or spouse

ALZHEIMER'S CAREGIVERS
especially tailored for those caring for people diagnosed with dementia

BREAST CANCER and FIBROMYALGIA SUPPORT GROUPS

NEIGHBORHOOD HOSPICE
